Our Garden in Bloom

Hello everyone,

I wanted to share some of the blooms in our garden today. We have been getting a lot of rain lately and for awhile i was pleased because the garden was so dry but now it is enough already! We are promised some sunshine for tomorrow before it rains again in the late afternoon. I was reading a nice book on photography(Digital Flower Photography) and I spent a few minutes this morning practicing as the rain had stopped. While I was out I saw lots of busy bees and even some cedar waxwings. I was able to get a good shot of the bees but not the cedar waxwings.Someday next week I am going to sit out in the garden with my camera on a tripod and practice on bird shots.

The bleeding hearts are still hanging in there.

As are a few late blooming tulips.

The apple blossoms are still pretty but already there are showers of petals falling to the ground.

The lilacs are coming to the fore front for their time of glory.

The viburnums are starting to bloom-I love the green color of the snowballs.

This is the first clematis to bloom in our garden.

The magnolia (one of the little girls maybe Anne)

The lilacs are starting to bloom

Johnson's blue geranium

This is yellow bird magnolia -a birthday gift from my husband a few years ago. It is borderline hardy in our garden so I had to cover it a few nights that we had frost but it is starting to bloom now. It is still small so it doesn't have more then twenty blooms but they grow fast when they establish.

I love this primrose lilac as it has yellow buds starting out before becoming creamy white.

You can see the raindrops on the lilacs.

This is an annual snapdragon that I picked up a few flats of to fill in a few bare spots on the hillside garden.

I love this Phlox divaricata 'Clouds of Perfume'.It seems to bloom a good few weeks. I would like to get the white one too but I haven't found it locally.

The pink tree peony will soon bloom. It is so pretty.

The clematis again

My favorite crabapple tree-unfortunately I forget the variety.

Beauty of Moscow lilac

the alliums are blooming now and I love them even the seed heads are pretty later on.

And to end, another collage!

I am joining Cindy at My Romantic Home for Show and Tell Friday again if I am not to late. If you haven't already be sure to check out all the lovely shows.

Thank you for visiting ,

Enjoy your weekend,

Blossom Time

Hello everyone,

It is blossom time here in our garden as the old apple trees are loaded with blossoms this year. The fragrance is so lovely from them it makes working in the garden a pleasure.

there are lots of birds and bees fluttering in and out of them.

The lilacs are starting to bloom on many of the lilac shrubs.

The flowering crabs are blooming also.

Another old apple tree with the hammock for you to enjoy.

Beauty of Moscow lilac- probably my favorite lilac

I think this one is Maidens Blush.

Speaking of blossoms- isn't she a beauty! this is little Lila with her Mama -our daughter Emily.

Lila and big brother Noah- I love how tenderly he is hugging his little sister

This robin flew into our screened porch and perched on the bed when I was by the window inside with my camera so I was able to get a clear shot.

I do enjoy the activity and songs of the birds in the garden. This year we have a chickadee in the church bird house a few feet from our door-so there is almost constant activity in and out to feed the young.

We have our first house and garden tour with tea and dessert for 16 visitors from Japan on Saturday so I won't be posting until after the tour. We have a couple of big beds in the garden to do and then the garden will be looking good although there is that little lull in between tulips and daffodils but before peonies.geraniums, lupins etc. so hopefully they will enjoy the blossoms. My daughter gave me a recipe for chocolate carrot cake that I love so I am going to make it for them-hope there are leftovers.HeHe
After the first tour it will be just maintenance in the garden for the rest of the season so we will have more time to relax-I think! More time for tea parties,Island tour days, and relaxing on the veranda, going to the beach etc.-sounds good, doesn't it!!!

I hope you have a lovely weekend,

Carolyn

This is where I Keep it All !

Hello everyone,
Can you believe it is June already! I think June is my favorite month here on Prince Edward Island - everything is so lush and green. It is also the time when many of my favorite flowers bloom lilacs, peonies etc. but yet you know all of summer stretches out before you!
However, getting to the point of this post-I am joining in with The Tablescaper for Where do you keep it all?
So, I am showing you where most of mine is kept. In the dining area of our kitchen we have cupboards with glass doors(open for photo) where I keep my red and white transferware.
This little cupboard is not fancy but it does hold many of my teacups as you can see below. It is also in the kitchen.
The cupboard in the sun room that I showed you a couple of weeks ago hold my dainty pink and white china.
Of course, there is more china in the corner cabinets of the kitchen as well as in the cupboards.
Tho corner cabinet-I forgot to take a photo of the other one.
In the porch I have this little cupboard with my blue and white china.
In the hallway more china.
Another little corner in the kitchen holds my green and white china.
Yep! you guessed it the corner cabinet holds more china.
I opened the top door to show you.
Some of my china is on display on shelves etc. all around the house.
My brown and white tranferware displayed in our family room
Some is displayed on walls
or countertops
or table tops
or on trays
plates above windows
A better view of the built in cupboards in the kitchen. Well, that is pretty much it for me but if you go to The Tablescapers to see her amazing stash of lovely china and all the others who have joined in for this great event.
Thank you for visiting,

Carolyn
