Hello everyone,
I hope you are enjoying your weekend but have a few minutes to tour our garden with me. The shot above was taken early in the morning and the mirror behind Martha (the statue) is foggy. Some of you have asked how often I clean the mirror and the answer is about three times in 10 years -so not often and it does stay there all winter as well. I love how it reflects the garden but it is in a shady spot so it doesn't get the sun which can apparently cause a fire because of the heat it reflects.
The daylilies are putting on a good show all around the garden now and for several weeks yet.
Pink astillbe with a purple monkshood and a white monkshood with an Annebelle barely showing to the side.
I love to take a picture from up here on a regular basis as it gives a good view of what is blooming each week.
Our little Garden Cottage.
Love my delphinium with the pink roses in the background.
Prairie Princess rose and more monkshood. Monkshood is very easy to grow and we have even rooted new plants just by sticking a stem of it in the ground in spring.
Sally Holmes rose-a delicate creamy peach.
Heritage rose
Antique rose.
Now, for any local visitors we are having our garden tour again this year on August 7th a Sunday afternoon from 2 until 4:30 .The cost is $8. and all of the proceeds go to the Muscular Dystrophy Association of Canada. I hope you can come and enjoy a tour of the garden and cottage along with some lemonade and cookies! The tour is rain or shine.
Thank you for coming around the garden with me again!
Thank you as well to all who left such lovely comments on my last post-I have to admit it was one of my personal favorite posts.
Enjoy your weekend,
Carolyn
