Happy Pink Saturday!

  Hello everyone,
I am popping in on this beautiful snowy Saturday to share some photos I took this morning so I could join Beverly at How Sweet the Sound for her beloved Pink Saturday.
I picked up this beautiful bouquet of roses last night at the grocery store as pretty flowers cheer me on the long winter days while my garden sleeps. My new motto is to eat less but buy more flowers!
My yardsale teacup.

We are getting a lot of the big fluffy white stuff and it is truely a winter wonderland out there today so this is a great spot to enjoy a book and a cup of tea while enjoying the winter garden.
 Aren't pink roses so beautiful???

I am going to let you sit for a spell but I am going out to capture some of the beauty outdoors to share with you another day!

Thank you for visiting me and be sure to enjoy this beautiful Pink Saturday at Beverly's.
How Sweet the Sound
Hope you enjoy a wonderful weekend!

Perfect for a Winter Weekend

So yesterday after I posted the Dwell rug, it sold out online! Coincidence...I'm sure--but still cool :) Don't worry they will have it back in stock in 3-4 weeks. Moving on...

With snow in the forecast this weekend, I thought it would be the perfect time to post these photos.

Is this not the perfect winter weekend getaway? I don't think there is anything I love more than exposed brick. It really is all the decor you need in a room.

Yumm...I can just imagine snuggling up under a faux fur throw with some hot chocolate and a stack of shelter mags...that is my happy place!

I hope everyone has a happy Friday and wonderful weekend. I am off to New Jersey to visit family...but poor Ryan has a list a mile long of things-to-do-around-the-house back in Falls Church :)

Ciao.

Indoor Beauty!

  Hello everyone,
I hope you are all having a good week. We have been enjoying some bright sunny weather here even through it is a little frosty. I have been enjoying the beauty of  a couple of amaryllis and some paperwhites that are blooming now. I love that there is still some beautiful blooms that I can watch grow and bloom even in winter.
This is in our sun room that has old single pained glass so they frost up on chilly winter nights. I like the sparkle they give behind the blooms. The cherub statue came in from the garden.

On cold nights I have to take the plants in for the night as the sunroom would be too cold.

macro shot- I really need to practice more with my macro lens. If anyone has any tips I would love to hear them. Some people have asked what camera I use and it is a Canon Rebel.
The top one is appleblossom but I forgot to save the name of the other one.

macro again

this orchid has been blooming for months now.

This is a new double ameryllis that I just planted- they are on clearance now.

If you haven't already grown these I think you should give them a try as they are easy to grow and so beautiful in flower with each stalk producing at least 4 flowers and each bulb has 2 or 3 stalk. The blooms will last for a few weeks especially if kept in a cooler place at night.

Well, I hope you have enjoyed seeing some of our indoor beauty and when my double one blooms I will be sure to share it's beauty!
I am joining Cindy today for Show & Tell Friday at My Romantic Home.

I hope you have a great weekend,

Carolyn
